No more heroes
in ovarian cancer
Because being a hero means you’re facing overwhelming odds
Top of page
The odds are stacked against the 300,000+ women diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year.
Only half survive 5 years after diagnosis, and survival
rates have not improved over the last 30 years.
A lack of awareness and acute underfunding toward research compounds the problem, leaving women with limited diagnostic and treatment options. This gives them no other
choice but to try to be a hero to survive.
At Lena Wäppling’s Foundation, we want surviving ovarian cancer to be the norm and
not an act of heroism. That’s why we channel the funding we receive directly into research, making better diagnostic and treatment options possible for all women all across the globe.
