We exist to make surviving ovarian cancer an
expected outcome and
not a heroic struggle

Our Vision

We believe in a future where no woman dies of ovarian cancer.

Our Mission

Directly fund research that will result in early diagnosis and better treatment for people living with ovarian cancer, making survival the norm.

What Makes Lena Wäppling’s Foundation Unique

Singular Focus: If we are to change the narrative against ovarian cancer,
we need medical breakthroughs urgently. We believe that ovarian cancer
can be solved through a radical focus on science, and that’s why we direct
our resources exclusively to research.

Science Without Borders: Diseases have no borders, and neither should research. That’s why we provide funding anywhere in the world where critical research is taking place.

Quality and Patient Benefit; We coordinate our efforts with the help of a scientific committee to ensure that your donations support the projects with the greatest potential to make a difference.

100% Committed: We have a 90-account holder status from the Swedish Fundraising Control, and we allocate 100% of all donations to research.

No woman should have to go through what I did. No woman should be
made to feel like a hero when
dealing with ovarian cancer.

Lena’s Story

Lena Wäppling started the Lena Wäppling Foundation in 2019 after surviving ovarian cancer against all odds. With her life forever changed by this experience, she took it upon herself to help other women going through the same ordeal. Digging deeper, she found out that ovarian cancer takes more than 200,000 lives every year, yet there is a lack of awareness around it. To make matters worse, severely underfunded research leads to a lack of diagnostic tools and treatment options for women living with ovarian cancer.
